When choosing kitchen wall panelling, we suggest focusing on ones made from moisture-resistant MDF. It's always a good idea to avoid getting panels wet, but the moisture resistance will ensure they will remain durable in humid environments.

When deciding where to place your panels, ensure they won't be exposed to open flames. Good places to install them include along kitchen islands, or on the walls nearest the table.

As well as enhancing a kitchen's appearance, panels offer the added benefit of protecting walls from scuffs – especially wainscoting, which covers the lower portion of the wall. This makes them ideal for high traffic areas like kitchens, acting as a way to complement the room's design while adding protection. Ideal!

Kitchen panelling is available in a range of styles, such as bead & butt and shaker style. For a farmhouse style, you could consider tongue and groove panels. Or, for a more modern look, why not create a custom design using MDF strips? Each type can be installed directly to the walls and painted in your choice of colour.

Tips for easy installation

MDF panelling is super easy to install using adhesive.

Measure the walls carefully before buying your panels. Taking the time to get the measurements right is crucial, so it's worth double checking they're accurate before making your purchase.

With our custom panelling creator, you can buy them cut to size to simplify the process. However, just keep in mind that you may still need to cut panels to fit around plug sockets and appliances.

Make sure walls are clean and dry before applying the panels, and use a spirit level to check they're straight.
