Decorative wall panels for bathrooms

Looking for a low-maintenance alternative to traditional tiles for your bathroom walls? Try bathroom panelling. It's generally more cost-effective than tiles, especially once the installation costs of tiling are factored in. Plus, the panels are generally easy to maintain.

As they're grout-free, wall panels are less likely to develop mould and staining, and therefore don't need quite as much cleaning as ceramic tiles would.

When choosing bathroom panelling, though, the key is to look for ones made from moisture-resistant (MR) MDF. While these panels shouldn't be used in wet areas like showers, they're durable in humid environments, making them suitable for bathroom walls. Unlike wooden panelling, which can warp when exposed to moisture, MR MDF is designed to retain its shape and appearance in humidity.

The beauty of MDF panelling is you can paint it to suit any colour scheme. So, whether you're planning a room with soft colours like cream, grey and pink, or you opt for a rich palette like yellow and orange, MDF panels can fit in seamlessly.

There are a few different styles to choose from. For example, to create a sleek and modern style, you could install shaker panelling, with panels arranged in symmetrical square formations. Or, for a more cosy and traditional look, try beaded tongue and groove panels.

Whatever style you choose, MR MDF wall panels allow you to elevate flat walls with practical materials and gorgeous aesthetics, with minimal hassle.

Tips for quick and easy installation

It's very easy to install bathroom wall panels at home. There's no need to pay for labour or installation costs (as you likely would if adding tiles or marble to the room), helping you to keep costs down.

Firstly, measure the walls carefully to ensure you're getting the right panels for the room. We sell cut-to-size panelling which avoids the need for you to cut them down yourself at home.

You can install them using adhesive. Just ensure the adhesive is fully dried before painting.

Remember that MDF panels need to be primed before painting. The good news, though, is that we sell pre-primed panelling to simplify the process for you. Overall, it should be a fast and affordable installation.

And as our moisture-resistant MDF panelling is high-quality and designed with durability in mind, it offers long-lasting elegance.
